オンサイト発電 （Onsite power generation）とは

A model of power generation in which a renewable energy source is installed on-site on a company's premises and generated electricity is consumed by the company. From the power producer's perspective, this refers to a model of renting a portion of a customer's premises, installing its own power generation equipment, and providing energy services to the customer.

企業の敷地内（オンサイト）に再生可能エネルギー電源を設置し、自家消費をするモデルです。発電事業者側からすると、顧客の敷地の一部を借り受けて発電設備を設置・所有し、エネルギーサービスを行うことをいいます。通常は、発電だけでなく、発電の際に出る「廃熱」を回収し活用するシステムの導入も同時に進められます。

オンサイト発電サービスを利用すれば、企業は再生可能エネルギー導入の初期投資と維持管理費用が不要となります。また、燃料調整費の変動リスクと「再エネ賦課金」の上昇リスクがない点もメリットです。発電したクリーンな電力をそのまま活用できるだけでなく、不足する電力も供給されます。
